University officials in Glassboro said they are investigating the late Saturday, Sept. 10 incident, and that those responsible will face legal and disciplinary action, the outlet said.
“It’s deeply troubling whenever one of our own faces an ugly, racist act on campus,” Rowan University President Ali A. Houshmand said in a statement. “It goes against everything we are striving for here at Rowan and it will not be tolerated.”
The victim is the only black resident on her floor in Holly Pointe, her sister told the outlet. Holly Pointe houses 1,400 students, mostly freshmen, which makes it the school’s biggest dormitory, according to the report.
